Flow’s Guggenheim Helsinki museum conceptual building design takes its cue from the maritime location of the site. The building envelope was inspired by the flowing movement of the coastal waves. The interior and exterior spaces embody a sense of fluidity, with curved structures and spaces naturally leading visitors into the museum and throughout the building via a flowing ramp. Glimpses into the ground floors two storey high gallery spaces can be admired at any level along the circulation of the ramp. The museum includes a grand entrance hall for visitors to gather, a indoor/outdoor cafe services and gift shop in conjunction, a variety of gallery spaces with specific requirements to accommodate a variety of contemporary art forms. An amphitheater, top floor restaurant with exceptional views, staff offices and outdoor gardens and art spaces.
